Florida · HB1071

Education

FailedThe bill did not pass — it was voted down or expired without action.

Would have given a single state official the power to ban a publisher from Florida's state-adopted instructional materials list if any book by that publisher was found to violate Florida law. Imposed a sweeping ban on "advocat[ing] for diversity, equity, and inclusion" and "promoting" political or social activism in K-12 schools. DEFEATED.
