Library Resource Decision Standards for Public Schools
PROTECTIVE LAW. Requires Colorado school districts and charter operators to draft formal policies for book removal requests. Library personnel cannot be fired or punished for choosing or refusing to remove a book without formal review. Only parents of children IN the school can request removal. A book can be challenged only once every two years. Signed by Gov. Jared Polis in May 2025.
